A Greener Office in Minato
Going to work now feels like walking into a small forest.
A Minato office once buried in files. After the renovation, planting is no longer decoration — it is the order of the space itself.
Background
Files and samples had piled up year after year; the office had grown cramped and heavy. The brief: without moving out, make it a place people want to come to every day.
Thinking
- Problem
Storage was overflowing and the air felt heavy; the budget called for a soft renovation — no walls moved.
- Judgement
Plants are not decoration. They are air, humidity and rhythm — so they belong on the circulation route, not in corners.
- Design
Custom shelving unifies storage and display; over a hundred plants line the shelf tops, aisles and windows, so walking becomes a passage through greenery. Lighting shifts to warm white against the green carpet.
The space
Process
Process material — sketches, plans, material boards and site photographs — is being compiled and will follow.
Not a single wall was moved — yet the mood of eight hours a day has changed.
