FAQ
Is the first conversation free? How are fees calculated?
The first conversation is free and is for understanding your needs, budget and timing. Design fees are quoted by scope and floor area and confirmed in writing after that conversation; construction is carried out by your contractor or one I recommend.
Design only — no construction?
Correct. I am not a contractor; I handle design, handover to the contractor and on-site coordination, in Japanese where needed.
How long from first talk to construction?
It depends on scale. Design for a small renovation takes a few weeks; restaurants and offices somewhat longer. Construction time is separate, and I will give you an estimate for your project at the first conversation.
Do you work outside Tokyo?
Wider Kanto by arrangement; overseas projects can start online, with site visits as needed.
What should I prepare for the first conversation?
Photos of the current space, a floor plan or property listing, a rough budget and timing, reference images — none of it is required.
